LEMON·AID
Grants Funded: 34
Total Awarded: $119,700
Make Lemonade Project supports good hard-working cancer patients here in Hawai'i through Lemon-AID Grants. Oncology social workers carefully review every patient's case and when all state, government and private funding options are exhausted, they turn to Make Lemonade Project and our Lemon-AID Grant program.
As we know, living in paradise is expensive and many of us make ends meet paycheck to paycheck. Lemon-AID Grants bridge financial gaps for patients that make too much to qualify for low-income programs but not enough to pay their bills while they battle for their lives. Patients often become to sick to work and other's need to fly to the mainland and live out of a hotel for months to receive specialized therapies. Lemon·AID grants allow cancer patients and their families to focus on healing and spending quality time together instead of feeling suffocated by bills.
